Section 48
Voluntary Retirement
(1) The condition and age limit of pensionable employees who have reached the age of fifty years can take voluntary retirement within the period specified in the notice published in the Nepal Gazette by the committee under the conditions mentioned in the same notice. In this way, the employees who take voluntary retirement will not exceed the age of 60 years and the service period will be added to a maximum of seven years and the total service period for pension will be maintained. (2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), an employee who is eligible for pension and who has reached the age limit of fifty years can apply to the committee if he wishes to take voluntary retirement. In this way, if the employee who wants to retire is promoted to a higher position according to section 39 according to this Act, he can be promoted to a higher position and given a voluntary retirement by adding a maximum of seven years of service not exceeding the age of sixty years.
